Friday 30th September proved to be a wet and very windy night in Dover but none the less the brethren of the Dover and White Cliffs Council 210 and their guest turned out to attend their rescheduled meeting which was originally due to be held on the Monday 19th September. The meeting was rearranged as a mark of respect for the late Queen Elizabeth II who died on Thursday 8th September.

The council was opened in the Degree of St Lawrence the Martyr before the brethren stood for a minute in quite reflection. Having attended to the minutes and the treasurers reports of the council was adjourned and the lodge room made ready to perform the degree of Grand Tilers of Solomon. In the absence of the Worshipful Master W. Bro Terry Dodd, who had sent his apologies for the meeting, the chair was occupied by W. Bro David Green.

He then proceeded to admit Bros Alan Brown and Ben Katumba into the degree of Grand Tilers of Solomon in a first-class manner ably assisted by officers of the council and a few willing visitors. The lecture was presented in an excellent manner by W. Bro Roy Skelton.
