On the 19th October 2022 the Shorncliffe and Hythe Mark lodge 767 celebrated their centenary meeting at Windmill Street in Hythe. The current Worshipful Master of the lodge was none other than our own Deputy Grand Master. R. W Bro Clive Manuel. The lodge Director of Ceremonies was our District Grand Prefect W. Bro Derek Wilkins.

The Deputy Grand Master and the District Grand Secretary celebrate together The Shorncliffe and Hythe Mark Lodge 767 was consecrated, as far as can be ascertained, on the 27th July 1922 (sadly many of the lodge records were lost when the lodge building was requestioned during the Second World War).

The Lodge was delighted and honoured to receive many distinguished guests and visitors to help them mark to occasion. The first of note was the Prov. G. M., R. W. Bro. Peter Williams who was escorted by a large contingent of his active Provincial officers and members of the Provincial executive. The Prov. G, M accepted the gavel offered to him by the W.M., V. W. Bro Clive before he in turn handed it to R. W Bro. Keith Emmerson the Past Deputy Grand Master who then present the Centenary warrant to the W. M and the brethren of the lodge.

An excellent history of the lodge was delivered by the lodge secretary W. Bro Keith Beavers and this was followed by some highly amusing anecdotes remembering some of the past brethren of the lodge who have now sadly passed to Grand Lodge above.

When all the stories and reminiscing was complete the distinguished brethren left the lodge in procession and the lodge was closed.

The brethren then dined together at a magnificent celebratory festive board which was full of cheer and friendly banter.

Well done Shorncliffe and Hythe Mark Lodge 767 on achieving this milestone in your lodge history.
