On 19th November the District Grand Secretary W. Bro. Derek Wilkins ventured forth to Mark Masons Hall on his own for the AMD District of London annual meeting.

Sadly, the Deputy District Grand Prefect W. Bro. Brian Alan Ward who was due to accompany Derek had to cancel his visit at the last moment due to having two teeth extracted the day before. Our District Grand Prefect R. W. Bro. Peter Brockbank also had to tender his apologies for the meeting as he was representing Kent at the AMD West Lancs annual meeting.

As is usual at any AMD meeting Derek received a very warm welcome from his hosts and soon found himself chatting with friends old and new from other districts and enjoying the friendly banter of the occasion.

Following this very warm reception the brethren were asked to take their seats in what turned out to be a packed temple to enjoy the business of the day which was conducted by the District Grand Prefect for London R.W. Bro. Colin Woodcock MBE.

When the business of the day had been completed and the meeting closed the brethren retired to the festive board to enjoy good food, good wine, and good company. The food served at the festive board consisted of roasted monkfish with garlic beet greens and new potatoes, followed by a delicious honeycomb cheesecake. At the end of which the brethren set off for home, full, content and mellow. A perfect end to a wonderful day.
