The District Grand Council of Kent has a new District Grand Prefect.

R.W.Bro. Brian Alan Ward was obligated, invested and installed as District Grand Prefect by M.W.Bro. Thomas Firth Jackson, Grand Master, at an especial meeting of the District Grand Council of Kent at the Franklin Rooms, Gillingham on Saturday 18th February 2022.

A new District Grand Prefect for Kent Over 120 members and guests attended to witness this very important moment in the history of the district. The District Grand Council was opened by the Presiding Officer, R.W.Bro. Clive Robert Manuel, Past Deputy Grand Master, in his own inimitable style.

The Most Worshipful Grand Master then entered District Grand Council, assisted by the Grand Secretary, the Grand Director of Ceremonies and other officers of Grand Council. Having assumed the Chair and appointed his officers, the M.W. Grand Master then proceeded to obligate, invest and install our new District Grand Prefect in a wonderful ceremony, which was enjoyed by all present.

The new District Grand Prefect then proceeded to obligate, invest and install our new Deputy District Grand Prefect, W.Bro. Geoffrey Edward Whale P.G.St.B., Past District Grand Director of Ceremonies, in a memorable ceremony.

After the regular business of District Grand Council had been completed the District Grand Prefect appointed and invested the Officers of the District Grand Council of Kent for the ensuing year.

The District Grand Prefect addressed District Grand Council. He thanked the District Grand Secretary and District Grand Director of Ceremonies and their teams for all their hard work, which had ensured the day had been such a success. He informed everyone that he and his deputy plan to visit every council in the district as soon as they can and that he would be inviting all members of the district to a social event at his home in Folkestone in the summer. He ended by encouraging every member of the district to promote the Order of the Allied Masonic Degrees and to let their friends know how enjoyable it is.

After District Grand Council had been closed, the brethren enjoyed a lovely luncheon in the company of the M.W. Grand Master and the R.W. District Grand Prefect during which the M.W. Grand Master wished R.W.Bro. Brian every success in his new role.

This was a most memorable occasion for Kent and we all send our new District Grand Prefect best wishes for a successful and enjoyable term of office.
