It was a very early start on Saturday 23 January for the outgoing District Grand Prefect for Kent, R WBro Peter Brockbank, when he attended the Annual District Grand Meeting of the West Midlands at Burton-on-Trent In Staffordshire. It was a very enjoyable meeting and well-worth the early start.

The District Grand Prefect for the West Midlands R WBro Joe McCollum, welcomed all the Guests most warmly and particularly, RW Bro Peter Brockbank, who was attending his last visit as District Grand Prefect for Kent. He knew that R WBro Brockbank had attended most of the District Meetings of the West Midlands since he had become District Grand Prefect for Kent some ten years previously.

R WBro McCollum stated that the only positive result of this was that now the Masonic Centres would be able to replenish and maintain their stocks of Guinness!

He also congratulated WBro Brian Alan Ward on his forthcoming appointment in February as District Grand Prefect of Kent and was pleased to know that the “Guinness supplies of drinks would be safe in the future as it was not the only tipple consumed by W Bro Ward”.

An excellent meeting was followed by a superb Festive Board.
