The District Grand Prefect visits the Invicta Council No 54
On Monday 20 February 2023 the new District Grand Prefect, R WBro Brian Alan Ward, attended a meeting of the Invicta Council number 54 in Gillingham, in his first official visit as the new District Grand Prefect of Kent. On arrival he was warmly welcomed by all members of the Council, and the many guests who were present.
The Council was opened in the degree of St Lawrence the Martyr and the District Grand Prefect was given the customary salutations to which he replied that he was delighted to attend the Invicta Council meeting on his first ever outing as the District Grand Prefect. He also confirmed that he intended to hold a social event in the form of “An afternoon at the Races” at his home in Folkestone on the 2 September 2023 and asked the Council to sponsor and support the event.
The Council was then adjourned in the degree of St Lawrence the Martyr and opened in the degree of Knights of Constantinople. WBro Jason Cameron-Potter then took the chair and conferred the degree on Bro Chris Doll in an excellent manner which included a great deal of noise created by the members present. On completion of the ceremony, Bro Doll was congratulated by the District Grand Prefect on attaining this degree before the Council was closed.

The Council was then opened in the degree of Grand Tilers of Solomon by WBro Mark Kirby and the District Grand Prefect was even invited to participate in part of the ceremony, which he duly did with great pleasure. The degree was conferred upon Bros Bill Pennell and Chris Doll in a superb manner with the assistance of Officers of the Council. The District Grand Prefect then congratulated Bros Pennell and Doll in attaining this degree before the Council was closed in the degree of Grand Tilers of Solomon and resumed in the Degree of St Lawrence the Martyr.
The Council was then finally closed after other business had taken place and the members retired to the Festive Board to dine together and enjoy each other’s company.
