The Installation meeting for the White Cliffs of Dover Council 210 was due to take place on Monday 27th March at the Masonic centre in Dover. Sadly, the Master Elect, Bro. Fred Brown, tested positive for covid which necessitated the meeting being rearranged.

Following some very clever secretarial work by the Council Secretary, W. Bro. Lew Finnis, and the District Grand Secretary, W. Bro. Derek Wilkins, a Dispensation was obtained, and the Council meeting was rearranged for Tuesday 4th April at 11am at the Masonic centre in Snargate Street, Dover. Regrettably, there were only 14 brethren able to attend which included two visitors.

The Council was opened by the Worshipful Master, W. Bro. Terry Dodd, who was ably assisted by his Officers together with various substitutes. The Visitors were then welcomed by the Worshipful Master to the meeting of the Council which included the District Grand Prefect. R.W. Bro. Brian Ward, stated he was there to witness his long-time friend Bro. Fred Brown being installed into the chair of the Allied Degrees. W. Bro. Terry Dodd then installed Bro. Fred Brown into the chair of St Lawrence the Martyr. The Installing Master and the new Worshipful Master were then congratulated by the District Grand Prefect, R.W. Bro. Brian Ward, and the rest of the brethren who had witnessed the Installation ceremony. The newly installed Worshipful Master, W. Bro. Fred Brown, then appointed and invested his Officers for the year with his usual charm and in a very warm and friendly manner.

Before the Council was closed the Secretary announced that the Council had had an application for a new member, and it was planned to introduce him at the next meeting.

During the risings, the District Grand Prefect, congratulated the newly Installed Master and thanked the brethren for their warm and friendly welcome. He also thanked the Council for agreeing to sponsor the social event which would take place on Saturday 2nd September at the District Grand Prefect’s home in Folkestone.
