On Sunday the 8th October 33 people gathered at the Wrotham Masonic Centre to enjoy a carvery Sunday lunch. The guests comprised of members of the Paddock Wood Council 88 joined by their family and friends and other members of the order including the District Grand Prefect accompanied by his wife Toni.

Pre-Covid this Sunday lunch was a much-enjoyed tradition and regular fixture in the diary of the Paddock Wood Council but like many things during the pandemic it had to be abandoned. However, and thanks to the hard work and efforts of W. Bro. Nigel Cash and Bro. Peter Hayler the event was reintroduced to the council. The meal comprised of stuffed mushroom or melon as a starter followed by a traditional roast carvery followed by a meringue topped with berries and fresh whipped cream or cheese and biscuits. A truly delicious feast enjoyed by all.

A raffle was organised by Bro. Peter Hayler and raised the magnificent sum of £210. The Worshipful Master proposed that the council would nominate a charity or worthy cause at the next regular meeting to be the beneficiary of the proceeds of the raffle.

W. Bro Nigel thanked everyone for giving up their time to come along and support the event and he looked forward to welcoming everyone back next year. The Worshipful Master W. Bro. Bob Gaywood echoed these sentiments and wished everyone a safe and non-eventful journey home.
