On Saturday 9th December 2023 the Roy Albert John Williams Council No 273 worked the ceremony of the Red Cross of Babylon for 5 candidates at Gillingham Masonic Centre. A total of twenty-six brethren, which included eleven visitors, attended the meeting.

The Worshipful Master, W. Bro Jake Jakson, opened the Council in the Degree of St Lawrence the Martyr ably assisted by his officers. The minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed as a true record.

The Lodge was then adjourned so that the room could be prepared as a Royal Arch Council for the ceremony of the Red Cross of Babylon. The following officers from the council were appointed to work the first part of the ceremony.

RAJW Council Perform the Ceremony of the Red Cross of Babylon Candidates and Principle Officers for Part one of the Red Cross of Babylon Ceremony

Bro’s Jerome, Pritchard, Laker, Tyler and Lapage were then introduced into the Royal Arch Council within the Red Cross of Babylon with Bro. Jerome acting as the lead candidate. The ceremony was carried out with style and aplomb by W. Bro Mark Woolcott who was ably assisted by his officers. Upon completion of the first part of the ceremony the candidates were asked to retire whilst the lodge room was reorganised as the Person court for the second part of the ceremony. The following officers were put into place before the candidates were reintroduced into the council with Bro Jerome again acting as lead candidate.

The council was then closed in due form before the brethren retired to the bar before enjoying a superb festive board together in each other’s company.
