A Grand Council Certificate for Bro. Peter Hayler
On Wednesday 24th January 2024 the District Grand Prefect R. W. Bro. Brian Ward accompanied by the District Grand Secretary W.Bro Derek Wilkins attended the regular meeting of the Paddock Wood Council 88.
The Worshipful Master, W. Bro. Bob Gaywood opened the Council in due form before warmly welcoming the DGP to the council meeting. The DPG then received the customary Allied salutations to which he responded with grateful thanks. A short eulogy was then given by R.W. Bro David Jordan to commemorate the passing of a much resected mason W. Bro Ray Hudson, who had died on 15th January 2024.

Following the confirmation of the minutes and other council business the Deputy District Grand Prefect W. Bro Geoff Whale, who is a member of the Paddock Wood Council, delivered an extremely interesting lecture on the history of the Order of the Allied Masonic degrees. On completion of the lecture the brethren expressed their appreciation with hearty applause. With this difficult act to follow the D.G.P. then presented a Grand Council Certificate to Bro. Peter Hayler and took the opportunity to thank Bro. Peter for all the hard work and effort he was putting in to promote the Order.

The council was then closed in due form. The brethren then retired to the bar for refreshments before enjoying each other’s company at the festive board.
Following the festive board, the brethren departed for home having spent a wonderful evening with their Allied brethren.
