Full team visit to the White Cliffs of Dover Council No. 210
The District Grand Prefect R.W. Bro. Brian Ward accompanied by a strong contingent of District Grand Officers both current and past attended a memorable evening at the Masonic Hall in Snargate Street Dover on Monday 25th March 2024.
The Worshipful Master, W. Bro Fred Brown ably assisted by his officers opened the council in due form. The District Grand Director of Ceremonies W. Bro Jody Townsend who had marshalled the escort of District Grand Officers outside the lodge was admitted and announced that the District Grand Prefect stood without and that he demanded admission. The District Grand Prefect was then escorted into the lodge room and accepted the chair before being warmly greeted by the Worshipful Master and the assembled Brethren. The District Grand Prefect responded by thanking the brethren for their warm salutations and then introduced members of his escort and thanked them for their support. He also took the time to welcome the numerous visitors who had come along to support the council.

A short eulogy was given to the memory of V.W. Bro. Roger O’Brien by W. Bro. Paddy Langdown which highlighted Roger’s outstanding contribution to Freemasonry in general.
Bro. Nicholas Baker the candidate was then Introduced, Received and Admitted into the Degree of St. Lawrence in a near perfect ceremony by W. Bro. Fred Brown followed by a faultless delivery of the Lecture of the Degree by W. Bro. David Green. The D.G.P. then took the opportunity to welcome Bro Nick into the order and presented him with an Allied Tie and a Grid Iron lapel pin and of course an Allied pen. Some traditions are just set in stone.

Following the ceremony W. Bro. Fred Brown was proclaimed as Worshipful Master of the Council for a second year. He then proceeded to invest his officers for the year in a very warm and personable manor but for some strange reason, known only to Fred many of them were referred to as Derek!?

The Visitors to the White Cliffs of Dover Council
During the risings the D.G.P. thanked the Worshipful Master and brethren again for their warm welcome afforded to the whole delegation. He then asked the Council to support and sponsor the social event planned for the 17th August 2024 which was unanimously agreed upon by the brethren. The D.G.P then retired from the council escorted by his escort to the bar.
Approximately thirty Brethren enjoyed a superb festive board together which was full of noise, banter and laughter. During the toasts the Worshipful Master again managed to introduce ‘Triangles’ (you had to be there) which caused gales of laughter from everyone. It is also worth mentioning that a virtual raffle prize was included in the raffle (A picture of a bottle of 12 year old Malt). Surely that has to be a first. At the end of the festive board the brethren departed and headed for home and it was clear that a jolly good time was had by all.
