News - Paddock Wood Council welcomes the Common People

On Wednesday 28th August 2024 Paddock Wood Council was pleased to conduct the Degree of the Knights of Constantinople for Bro. Paul Richard Clark and Bro. Christopher Gary Paul Evans both hailing from the Goose and Gridiron Council No. 275 in the District of London.

Before the meeting got underway the brethren stood in silent contemplation to the memory of the Past Grand Master M.W. Bro. Michael Edward Herbert who had sadly passed to the Grand Lodge above earlier in the month.

The boys from the Garden of England were delighted to help out the lads from “the smoke” with an excellent ceremony delivered by W. Bro. Nigel Cash supported in like manner by the officers of the Council with special mention going to the Deputy District Grand Prefect W. Bro. Geoff Whale who stood-in as Senior Conductor at the very last minute as a number of Brethren had been severely delayed due to an over turned tanker carrying rape seed oil in the area. Highlighting the value of visitors Bro. Paul Gillingham stood-in as Junior Conductor and W. Bro. Mark Woolcott acted as Sentinel. R.W. Bro. Peter Brockbank was also in attendance as a visitor. Peter had heard a rumour that a Guinness tanker had shed its load and had rushed to help.

The Festive Board was a very jolly affair, and the London lads certainly had a few tales to tell their brethren back home following their visit to the District of Kent.
