On Monday the 21st October eight District Grand Prefects from England and Wales gathered together at the Victory Service Club in London for Dinner and Drinks prior to the Allied Grand Council meeting at Great Queen Street on the 22nd October.

This social gathering was again organised by the D.G.P. for Thames Valley R. W. Bro. Bob Chevin. The afternoon was spent relaxing with drinks and conversation followed by dinner.

Following a very hearty and leisurely breakfast the “Perfection of Prefects” (A phrase coined at the previous meeting) headed to Grand Lodge to attend a meeting with the Grand Master and the Executive from Mark Masons Hall.

Following this meeting the District Grand Prefect for Kent, R. W. Bro. Brian Ward met up with the eleven brethren who had travelled from Kent either to receive honours or simply to support those brethren who were there to receive preferment.

The meeting was presided over by the Grand Master, Most Worshipful Brother Thomas Firth Jackson assisted by his team of Grand Officers. The temple was graced with many distinguished brethren from many parts of the globe who witnessed a beautiful ceremony conducted by the Grand Master and his team of active officers. One of the highlights of the day was a surprise promotion for the Grand Secretary who was promoted to Past Grand Junior Warden and will now bear the title of R. W. Bro. Dan Heath.

At the conclusion of the meeting the Grand Master accompanied by his active officers and other distinguished brethren processed from the temple to a splendid fanfare. Afterwards the brethren from Kent gathered together for photographs to mark the occasion before heading to the Connaught Rooms for lunch.

Following lunch, the brethren retired to a local hostelry for a final drink or two before heading for home.

A splendid day was had by all.
