News - Allied Executive Gather in Sunny Folkestone

On Wednesday the 12th March W. Bros. Geoff Whale, Jody Townsend and Derek Wilkins, journeyed to the D.G.P.’s home in sunny Folkestone to attend an Exec meeting for the Allied district of Kent.

After a receiving a warm welcome and a coffee from Brian and Toni (The D.G.P.’s wife) the meeting commenced at approximately 10:30am. The agenda for the morning was far ranging including a review of the last twelve months, membership and recruitment, social media, ritual, finances and the up-and-coming social event to mention just a few. The meeting continued until lunch, which was served by Toni at 1:00pm.

Lunch consisted of a mushroom and spinach cider bake served with freshly baked bread. Followed by a chicken breast stuffed with a tomato and olive paste, Philly cheese all wrapped in bacon and served with asparagus tips, dauphine potatoes, carrots, tomatoes on the vine accompanied by a cider and mushroom sauce. All washed down with a very acceptable Comte de Saint Emmanuel Bordeaux. The fresh fruit salad and cheese and biscuits to follow were declined due to full tummies.

At approximately 3:00pm Geoff, Jody and Derek headed home with several action points each to attend to from the mornings meeting.

The following morning Toni was delighted to receive a wonderful bunch of flowers from members of the Exec to say thank you for a wonderful lunch.
