The lecture, which was given by Ralph Apperley was delivered in a near perfect manor and, given that he was only given ten minutes notice, made it all the more remarkable. All in all, it was a ceremony that the council could be very proud of. The District Grand Prefect R.W. Bro Brian Ward who was in attendance welcomed Neil into the order and presented him a personalised welcome letter, a Grid Iron lapel pin and an Allied pen.
The District Grand Prefect R.W.Bro. Brian Ward then presented a Grand Council Certificate to Bro. Peter Lapage which was well received.

During any other business Bro. Peter Lapage rose to give an inspiring and heartfelt plea to the members regarding recruitment of new members to the council and to take every opportunity to publicise the order in general.
The council was then closed in due form whereupon the brethren retired to the bar for refreshments and conversation before enjoying a noisy and good humoured festive board together.
