On Wednesday 11th June 2025 the members of the West Kent Council were delighted to Introduce, Receive and Admit Bro. Tony Chisholm into the Degree of St. Lawrence in a near perfect ceremony delivered by W. Bro. Martin White-Peart.

Tony is a very active Freemason and is probably best known for his hard work and management at the Westwood Masonic Centre at Welling.

R.W. Bro. Brain Ward the District Grand Prefect was in attendance and welcomed Tony into the Order and presented him with a personal letter of welcome as well as a Grid Iron lapel pin and the ubiquitous Allied pen.

The Council didn’t stop there. The Council then proceeded to carry-out the Degree of Grand Tilers of Solomon for Bro. Neil Sceeny; Bro. Phil Gurney and getting real value for his money Bro. Tony Chisholm.

The ceremony was delivered by W. Bro. Jamie Alan who once again had stepped into the role at very short notice but in customary style provided a master-class in ritual.

The Lecture in St. Lawrence was delivered with faultless aplomb by W. Bro. Jody Townsend and the Lecture in Grand Tilers of Solomon delivered in equal manner by W. Bro. Archie Torrance.

The meeting also saw Bro. Paul Gillingham elected as Worshipful Master for the ensuing year adding yet another chair to his collection.

All three candidates were reminded that the Council of Roy Albert John Williams would be conducting the Degree of Grand High Priest and they would be invited to take that Degree.
