On Monday 15th September the Worshipful Master of the White Cliffs of Dover Council, W. Bro. Derek Wilkins and the brethren of the council were delighted to welcome the D.G.P., R.W.Bro. Brian Ward, W. Bros Tony Lewis and Ken Nunn, along with Bros Karl Bowman and Peter Hayler as visitors to their meeting.

All were there to support the council and to witness the Worshipful Master confer the degree of the Knights of Constantinople on Bro. Don Hepell. Sadly, on returning home from his holiday in Thailand Bro. Don was struck down with a dreadful case of food poisoning which left him confined to home and unable to attend.

Whilst all present were disappointed that the ceremony of the Knights of Constaninople could not be conferred on Bro Don by the Worshipful Master everyone’s main concern was that Bro. Don gets well soon.

Having little else to do the Worshipful Master quickly dispensed with the rest of the council business before the council was closed in due form. Following the customary photographs the brethren retired to the bar for refreshments and then enjoyed a superb festive board together. The steak pie with a flaky pastry top was an absolute triumph. Well, it was according the D.G.P who is known to know good pie when he tastes one!
