News - Visit to Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire Allied District Meeting

On 11th April 2026, W. Bro Derek Wilkins set off at 7am to pick up the Deputy District Grand Prefect W. Bro Geoff Whale from Leybourne, en route to the Cloisters at Letchworth Garden City, Herts & Beds for the District Allied Degree meeting and the installation of a new District Grand Prefect.

Apologies were given for our District Grand Prefect R.W Bro Brian Ward who was on a cruise with his wife Toni.

Herts & Beds 2026

Arriving nice and early as is the tradition of a bacon roll before proceedings get under way and to meet up with other friends in and around the country within the Allied Degrees.

The Grand Master M.W Bro Thomas Firth Jackson was in attendance with the Grand Officer team, and as usual a wonderful and sincere ceremony was performed by the Grand Master and his team to install R.W Bro Ian Crossley as the District Grand Prefect for Herts & Beds.

R.W Bro Ian Crossley then installed the new Deputy District Grand Prefect W. Bro Christopher Burgess PGJD and his District officers for the year.

After the usual business of the meeting, we continued to the festive board for good food and wine with the usual banter between Allied Brothers.

Geoff and Derek then set off for home happy and contented.
